German soldiers of the 29 infantry division, marched into Russia in June 1941 and reached Stalingrad in September 1942. One of them, recorded this campaign with his private film camera - uncut and uncensored. Former members of the same division comment from their recollection on the film which lay for decades unnoticed in a cellar. This unique time document is complemented with film of the Frontberichter Götz-Hirt-Reger, who likewise served in Russia and describes his admissions himself.
