The German Kriegsmarine during World War II was unprecedented and strong. The submarines, led at first by Admiral Erich Raeder and later by Karl Dönitz, torpedoed allied naval and commercial and civilian ships. The huge German battleships like the Bismarck that was considered unbeatable and Tirpitz and Graf Spee were involvedin seabattles with English battlecruisers like Hood and Prince of Wales. This documentary is all about the immense power, the struggle and the destruction of the vessels. We see the cunning tactics of Doenitz, who`s submarines hunted in wolf-packs. Ultimately out of 864 U-boats deployed, up to 785 were destroyed with 28,000 crew members perishing. The German U-boats had already killed more than 100,000 Allied seamen and civilians and sent them to the cold depths of the oceans!
