Amateur films show everyday life during the war how it really was. This begins with admissions from the Spanish civil war and from the everyday life of a Jewish family in Holland, Leads about fascistic parades in Germany, ships with Jewish refugees and the celebrations to the connection of Austria in Vienna to the outbreak of war with call-up orders, rolling out trains and air raids on London. Pictures of the Russia campaign from an armoured scout car, from the "incest" of German Polish lovers, pictures from partisan's hand and from hunger, cold, lack of food in the occupied countries. By the end of the war admissions of the death marsh through Hungary and from the Athens uprising against the German members of the occupying forces, from the Soviet invasion in Czechoslovakia and from the freeing of Paris by the Western-Allies. Amateur film-makers were always present, reporting other than the propaganda did and showing authentically and uncut what everyday life was during the war: the unknown war.

Part 1: It`ll be alright (in 1936-1939). from the point of view of the amateur film-makers, typical European everyday events are held on: a picnic in the Green, the birth of a child, the first school day. Only bit by bit, the world history penetrates into the private life. Also in the life of the Jewish family Peerebom. The recollections of this family are contrasted with the private films of Eva Braun, Hitler's companion. Eva Braun has documented the everyday life of the Nazi-Chiefs on the Obersalzberg.
